About the Ebook

Lies of the Flesh unfolds in the autumn of 1314, in the uneasy calm following Scotland’s victory at the Battle of Bannockburn. In the village of Warcop, families wait anxiously for the return of their men. When brothers Wat and Rob Dickinson arrive home with news of their companion Adam Fothergill’s death, few mourn him — but soon a monstrous figure is seen stalking the hills, and whispers spread that Adam has returned from the grave to seek revenge.

Three miles away, young Fran Hilton is grieving his father and struggling with the sudden burden of becoming lord of the manor. When he glimpses the Revenant, terror grips him — yet the mystery surrounding Adam’s death draws him in. With a ragtag group of local youths, Fran sets out to confront the truth.

As fear turns to violence, Fran discovers that the real story is buried beneath layers of deception. And he carries a secret of his own — one that could destroy everything he holds dear if it comes to light.

Rich in atmosphere and grounded in meticulous historical insight, this is a compelling exploration of identity, loyalty and the dangerous fault lines exposed by war.
